JORUNNERSBURG14 — ENTRY WAIVER, ASSUMPTION OF RISK & INDEMNITY

By entering and/or participating in JORUNNERSBURG14 (the "Event"),

I confirm that:

1. Voluntary participation & fitness — I am entering voluntarily and declare that I am medically and physically fit to participate. I accept full responsibility for my own health, conditioning and ability to complete the distance I have entered.

2. Assumption of risk — I understand that road running and mass participation events involve inherent risks, including slips, falls, collisions, traffic-related hazards, uneven surfaces, weather and heat conditions, dehydration, equipment failure, and serious injury, illness or death. I knowingly assume all such risks.

3. Release of liability — To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, I release the Event organisers, Distance Run Club, Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA), Athletics South Africa (ASA), the City of Johannesburg, Ditsong Museums of South Africa, venue owners, route authorities, marshals, medical providers, volunteers, sponsors, suppliers, and all their directors, employees, contractors and agents (the "Released Parties") from any claims arising from my participation, including claims arising from negligence, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

4. Indemnity — I indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties against any loss, liability, damage, cost or expense arising from my participation, my actions or omissions, or any breach of this waiver.

5. Personal property — I participate at my own risk and am responsible for my belongings, including items checked in at tog bag check-in. The Released Parties are not responsible for loss, theft or damage to property.

6. Rules & instructions — I agree to comply with all Event rules, ASA/CGA regulations, cut-off times and all instructions from officials, marshals, JMPD, security and medical staff. Failure to comply may result in disqualification and/or removal from the course without refund.

7. Medical treatment — If I require medical attention, I authorise Event medical personnel to provide first aid and/or arrange emergency treatment and transport. I accept responsibility for associated costs not covered by the Event.

8. Use of image & media — I consent to photographs, video and audio recorded at the Event being used by the organisers, the City of Johannesburg and sponsors for Event-related marketing, media and promotional purposes, without compensation.

9. Entry conditions — I understand and accept that entry fees are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances, and that JORUNNERSBURG14 is a once-off commemorative event with no deferral to a future edition. The Event may be altered, delayed, stopped or cancelled due to safety, weather, force majeure or instructions from authorities.

10. Agreement — I have read and understood this waiver. By submitting my entry I confirm it is binding on me, my heirs, dependants, executors and assigns.
